Create a new Job (Easy Start)

Whilst the Easy Start section presents simplified wizards for easy setup, we at Journease would recommend using the Lookup, Vehicles & Services and Action Screens tabs to do these tasks as greater detail can be added this way.           


  1. Ticking the This is a Quote tickbox will disable some of the text boxes and allow the details to be saved as a quote only.
  2. Select a customer from the drop down list, this will only show customers that are stored in the system, however if this is a quote you will be able to input a customer name that isn’t in the drop down list.
  3. In the Collections side of the form fill in the collection date and time.  Use the drop down box to show recent collection postcodes associated with this customer or enter a new postcode.  If you have selected a recent postcode from the drop down box then clicking in the address field will auto-populate the rest of this section, else fill in the address and contact details as required.
  4. In the Delivery side of the form the delivery time and date will be automatically calculated if the tickbox is ticked, untick it if you wish to put a fixed delivery date and time in.  Use the drop down box to show recent delivery postcodes associated with this customer or enter a new postcode.  If you have selected a recent postcode from the drop down box then clicking in the address field will auto-populate the rest of this section, else fill in the address and contact details as required.
  5. If you wish to specify a vehicle type for this job then use the drop down box to choose one, leave as Not Specified if you intend to add this when the job goes live, the same applies to the supplier field.
  6. Enter a brief description of the goods being transported with number of items and weight in their respective fields.
  7. Enter the reference given for this job by the customer and the purchase order if the customer uses them.
  8. Click on Get a Price to run the calculation wizard, this will calculate the delivery time (if ticked), the mileage and the additional costs and will display them in the yellow boxed area.
  9. Tick the tickboxes if you wish this job to be invoiced immediately and emailed.
  10. When compete you can select to print out a report (chosen from the drop down box of stored report styles)

You can click the Cancel and Abandon Job at any time to exit the wizard without saving changes.  The Finish and Save Job will only activate when form input is started and is used to save the Job to Journease.  The Save and Open on Job Screen will save the job to Journease and open a new window to allow you to enter more details for the job.
