fig 2

In this example we are going to create a Trip using the manual method for multiple customers addresses. In the above picture we have created three Jobs for this example (17419, 17420 and 17421)

These appear in the Available Job Addresses list ready for allocation.

  1. Click on New to create a new Trip
  2. Change the Vehicle Type to the one that is going to be used for this Trip
  3. Enter the Trip Date
  4. Change the Trip Status to In Planning
  5. Click Save - this will create a Trip Number in the top left of the Trip Details section
  6. Set the Depot that this Trip is being created for, the Start Address and Destination will be set automatically to this Depot address, however if this differs you can change it in the appropriate textboxes
  7. Select a Supplier / Driver that is carrying out this Trip.
  8. Select the first Job Address that you wish to add from the Available Job Addresses list and click on the Add button (green plus), the Job details will move over to the Job Addresses on Trip window and the Loaded Summery will update with loaded information.
  9. If there is still room available on the vehicle you can add another JobAddress, and another, and another until the Vehicle is full.
  10. Click Save to update the system (fig 1)
  11. Click Calc Route to plan the Trip - the route will plan according to how the tickboxes and Route Calculation Method have been set, (for this example we have Optimise Stops, Calculate Times and Shortest selected)
  12. Once the route has been calculated check that all the settings are correct and that the Loaded Summery is showing the correct details then change Trip Status to Finalised to lock the Trip and tick the Live Console tickbox to send it to the live console
  13. Click Save to save your changes, this trip should now be visible on the live console (N.B. Journease Standard users wont have the Live Console). (fig 2)

Auto-Allocate

For the most part the sequence for manual creation and automatic creation are the same, follow step 1 to step 7 above, however this time we will set the Zone Set drop-down box tothe Trip Zone Set that we wish to use.

At this point, if the zone set has been created correctly, we can simply click the Auto Alocate button, this will then check through the Available Job Addresses list and any that fall into the zone set will automatically be added to this Trip. It will first look at the priority 1 addresses, and then if there is still spare room on the Vehicle it will look at the priority 2 addresses and add them.

Once this is done and the Trip is full continue to follow the above routine from 10 to 13.
