Using the filter on grids

 

Quick Search Filter

The column that is being filtered is shown in square brackets [ ] after the Quick Search heading (in the example shown this is searching on the Customer Name column).

Using this as an example simply type Part or ALL of the customer name that you are searching for and click on the green search icon to filter the list to Customer Names CONTAINING the search text

Use the red cross icon to cancel the filter

 

 

 

Advanced Search Filter

  1. Use the Select a data field to select which column you are filtering by

  2. Select the type of filter

    1. like Find entries that CONTAIN the given text

    2. = Find the entry that matches the given text exactly

  3. Enter the search criteria (the text that you are searching for)

  4. Click on the green + button to add another level of search

    1. for the additional search lines you can select between AND and OR for the connection between filters

  5. Click on the green SEARCH button to activate the filter

  6. Click on the red Clear button to clear all current filters

 

 

 

Column Filter

To filter for a specific column when an advanced filter is not available

  1. Move the mouse cursor to the top right of the header in the column you wish to filter

  2. Click on the Menu Button

  3. Click the Filter Button

  4. Select the type of filter that you wish to use from the drop down box

  5. Enter the text that you wish to filter for in the Filter… box

  6. As you type the text additional filter boxes will appear below to enable multiple filters on the column

Adjusting the Grid

 

Column Order

To alter the column order:

  1. Find the column you want to move

  2. Click and hold in the column header

  3. Drag the column to the new position

  4. Release the mouse button

  5. Click the Save Layout button

Column Pinning

Pinning the column to the left or right of the Grid will allow you to scroll through the rest of the columns whilst keeping that column in place and visible.

To pin a column:

  1. Move the mouse cursor to the top right of the header in the column you wish to pin

  2. Click on the Menu Button

  3. Hover over Pin Column

  4. Select Pin Left, Pin Right to pin the column at the respective side of the Grid

  5. Select No Pin to remove the pin for that column and put it back into the scrollable Grid

Show / Hide Column

To Show or Hide columns in the Grid

  1. Move the mouse cursor to the top right of the header in the column you wish to pin

  2. Click on the Menu Button

  3. Select the Column Choice button

  4. Tick the columns that you wish to Show

  5. Untick the columns that you wish to Hide

If you require a specific column to show in a grid that is not currently present, contact Journease Support where we may be able to add it for you.

NOTE: This may incur a Development Charge depending on the amount of work required

Page Size

If you have your page size set to the default (25), when exporting Journease will ONLY export the top 25 rows.

  1. Use the drop down next to the selected number

    1. This drop down has default selections of (25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000)

    2. There will also be a final option which will differ depending on the number of rows available in total (e.g. if there are 1042 lines in total then this last option will show 1042)

  2. Select the number of rows that you wish to display on a single page (NOTE: this will reset each time you open the screen)

Navigating the pages

In the bottom right of the Grid you will have information about the current viewed page and controls to move between the pages of the Grid

In the example image we can see that:-

  1. We are currently looking at rows 1 to 25 out of a total of 1,419 available rows

  2. We are currently looking at Page 1 out of a total of 57 available pages

  3. We have controls to move between the pages

    1. |< = Move to first page

    2. < = Move back by one page

    3. > = Move forward by one page

    4. >| = Move to last page

Exporting the Grid

 

Page Size / Number

When exporting a Grid:

  1. Page Size is very important, if you have a Page Size of 25 then Journease will ONLY export 25 rows of data.

    1. Make sure that you adjust your Page Size to match the number of rows you wish to Export

  2. Page Number is another way to select how many rows you wish to export

    1. If you are viewing Page 1 and export then Journease will export all data on Page 1

    2. If you select Page 2 and export then Journease will export all data on Page 1 AND 2

    3. Page 3 will export data from Page 1,2 AND 3 (and so on until you are viewing the last page which will export ALL data)

 

 

 

 

Export the required Grid Data

Once you have the correct Page Size / Number set:

  1. Right Click anywhere in the Grid

  2. Select the Export item from the list

  3. Select the Export Type (CSV or EXCEL)

This will then export the required Grid Data to the Downloads folder on your machine
