Vehicle Types

 




Add New

to add a new Vehicle Type or Service Type simply click on the + Add New button to create a new line, then fill in the required details on that line.

Once Entered or Changed make sure to click the Save button to save the changes to the database

 

NOTE: The Vehicle Type / Service Type Service Name must be unique, check to see if there is already a Vehicle Type / Service Type of that name that may be non-active by unticking the Only Show Active Services checkbox




NOTE: column order will differ from your screen if you have re-ordered columns manually

 

Service Name

A unique name for this Vehicle / Service Type, these will list alphabetically and should not contain special characters

Special Characters to avoid * & ^ ' % ”

Active

Tick this Checkbox to make this Vehicle / Service Type available for use

 

Is Service

Tick this Checkbox to signify this as a Service Type, unticked will make it a Vehicle Type

This will separate the types in the drop down menu when selecting the Vehicle / Service Type for a new Job or trip

 

Default Service Type

Select a Default Service Type from the drop down of all your services if required, this can be left blank.

This will automatically add this Service type to a Job when this Vehicle / Service Type is selected, can be changed on a job by Job basis

 

Courier Exchange Equivalent / Body Type / SCDN

If using Courier Exchange then this is where you can match your Vehicle Types up to the CX recognised types, this consists of a Vehicle Type and Body Type column.

The same can be done for Same Day Courier Network users although currently this consists of simply the Vehicle Type

 

Minimum Price / Mile Rate

If you are charging by a simple mile rate, you can enter the minimum price and mile rate here.

Note if you are using Matrices then the Matrix will override both these columns

 

Price Matrix 1 / 2 / 3

These columns allow you to apply up to three Price Matrices to govern the Price of using this Vehicle Type

 

Cost Matrix 1 / 2 / 3

These columns allow you to apply up to three Vehicle Cost Matrices to govern the Cost of using this Vehicle Type

 

Cost Centre

This is the nominal code (usually used for 3rd party accounts software) for the costs associated with this vehicle Type

 

Show On Web Booking / Web Booking Name

Ticking the checkbox will allow this Vehicle Type to be used on Delivery Booker.

The Web Booking Name is the name of the Vehicle Type that the customer will see when booking a job via Delivery Booker

 

Max Total CBM / KG

Record the Maximum CBM / KG that this vehicle can legally carry.

This is used mainly when allocating Jobs to Trips in order to ensure that the vehicle is not being overloaded

 

Max Individual CBM / KG / Length / Width / Height

Record the Maximum CBM, KG and Dimensions of items that can be loaded onto this Vehicle Type.

This is used mainly when allocating Jobs to Trips in order to ensure that the vehicle is not being overloaded

 

Don’t Show LC

If this checkbox is ticked then any Job created that uses this Vehicle Type, after it has been ticked, will not show on the Live Console regardless of default settings

 

Non Invoiceable

If this checkbox is ticked then any Job created that uses this Vehicle Type, after it has been ticked, will not show on the Sales Invoicing screen

 

Speed Restriction (%)

 

 

Preferred Routing Method

Select how the route is calculated using: Minimum Time - regardless of distance, Shortest Distance - regardless of time and Minimum Time (with traffic).

Note With Traffic will calculate the route based on the traffic at the time of calculation

 

Motorway / Toll Preference

Selecting from these choices will alter the way a route is calculated, the choices are to Always Use - when required, Minimize Use - unless absolutely necessary, or Avoid - do not use under any circumstances

 

Images Required

If using Journease Mobile with the Photo Capture Add-On, Ticking this checkbox will not allow a Job to be completed until at least one Photo has been taken.

 

Collection Cut-Off time

This sets the Earliest time that a Collection can be made using this Vehicle type

 

Delivery Cut-Off time

This sets the Latest time that a Delivery can be made using this Vehicle type

 

Delivery Days

this sets how many days of the week this vehicle is available based on Monday - Sunday (so 5 Days = Monday - Friday only)

 

Driving hours B4 break / Break Minutes

These columns determine how long this vehicle Type can be driven before a break is enforced, and how long that break will be.

This will affect the calculated Time on a Job when Calculating the route and will add the Break Minutes to the overall time between the job Addresses that coincide with the required Break time

 

Waiting time

This is where we can select the Waiting Time that is associated with this Vehicle Type, the waiting time additional charge must first be set up in Additional Price/Costs

NOTE: This will be overridden by any Customer / Supplier specific Waiting Time
